In black-and-white and the top article of the Style section of the Post today lies...the return of the Babysitter's Club! Ever since fifth grade, my closet indulgence was this flamboyant heck-of-a-series. I would lie awake at night with my desk lamp, reading the exciting (and scandalous) endeavors of the babysitters. In all fairness, I loved Mary Anne Spier (possibly because she was the ONLY one with a consistent boyfriend) and absolutely detested Kristy Thomas (something about her bossiness). However, I admired their middle-school friendship even though it's nothing like the actual middle school (no texting, no sexting, minimal drama/gossip...basically the stereotypical 80's relationship). From these lovely books, I learned the importance of laughter, community, and a freshly done perm. It's certainly good to see them again. So which babysitter were you?
There's an entire blog dedicated to Claudia's wardrobe. I'm off to explore.
