Halloween Countdown!

Though Halloween is not until two days, a major crisis has dawned upon me: what am I going to be?! It may not be a life-threatening concern, however I do concern it pinnacle. How many times in the year can you dress-up and transform into a completely different person?

So here are my choices:

The esteemed and amazingly talented Lady Gaga. I'm such a huge fan of her wardrobe! Imagine false eyelashes and a platinum blonde wig.

(via iGossip)
Kate Gosselin and her famous hair. I'm a closet Jon & Kate Plus 8 fan (I can name all their kids by birth order!). Indecisive about this one, carrying eight babies will get in the way...

And finally:

Because who doesn't want to be a Disney princess, even if they're in high school? ;]

Loads of organizing to do, i'm predicting this four-day weekend to be filled to the brim with homework and five page essays...

Maybe I can revert back to my all-time fave genre of music for inspiration: classical. Haha, dorky, much? But who can concentrate when Lady Gaga talks about disco sticks? On that note, I'll leave with a violin prodigy in mind. Here's Itzhak Perlman at the precocious age of thirteen playing the 3rd movement of Mendelssohn's violin concerto in e minor. scarily good.

ROSE RED.

I swear winter is beyond attached to fall this year. Why is it freezing and dark in October? Maybe I should move to some place warm like Miami, or Los Angeles. Too bad I want to go to school in Boston, haha.  Though a generous heater would certainly help...

Check out these folks bringing up their spirits with splashes of heat-wave red (The Satoralist is AH-mazing, I swear.):

Scrolling through, this sweater just POPPED. Think I could score something bright like this in the winter season?

Gorgeous red cardigan. Effortless chic.

Love the pumps.Every girl should have a pair; it really brings sophistication to any garment.
And finally, this couple:

Color-mania! With splashes of black here and there :)

Le Samedi.

Under the threat of a thunderstorm and probable electricity failure, Mom and I did what we knew the best: escape the possibility of a boring saturday at home.

a fuchsia cover-up from Urban Outfitters, shirt from Nordstrom, grey tights from Macy's and a Pashmina scarf from China.I advocated sensible flats, no more sinking into the mud for me!

My darling orange umbrella was purchased at a large department store during an annual sale in the Ginza District in Tokyo back in '07. Incidentally, another lady purchased the same umbrella at exactly the same moment as me; I'm linked halfway around the world :) I just got a free bag sent in the mail along with my Teen Vogue subscription, don't you just love free stuff? It will probably take the role of a lunch tote, as it is water-resistent and practical.

Love mom's color combination. It makes each piece really pop.

My dad's watch and a slough of bangles I picked up at a flea market in Beijing.

We decided to watch Where the Wild Things Are; I chickened out of Paranormal Activity after the various tales of insomina told by unsuspecting victims (i.e. grown-ups)

Savored absolutely delicious lettuce wraps at P.F. Chang's (it's one of the reasons I patiently wait amongst the buffalo migration for)

Got this black turtle from Ann Taylor. I decided to incoporate black into my warerobe again and at $25, whatta steal!

TGIF again.

It's finally Friday! Surviving a whole week of school without catching the seasonal flu is an accomplishment, non? I had to say goodbye to my summer clothes this week (beyond sad, as I practically alive in skirts and shorts), HOWEVER, fall brings in halloween! And delicious morsels of dark chocolate, not to mention darker movies. Speaking of which, perhaps this weekend, I can finally go see Paranormal Activity; I hear it's absolutely thrilling! Here's the trailer:

I FLY LIKE A PAPER BAG PRINCESS.

From W Magazine's Sept. 2009 issue:
Photographed by Craig McDean, styled by Alex White

Sifting through a load of magazines during sculpture today. This reminds of very much of that Project Runway challendge this season meets the Marc Jacobs ad campaigns feautring Victoria Beckham. Like Tommy Hilfiger said, maybe paper should be the new fur! :)

Return of the Mid-Week Syndrome.

Have you ever been woken up by a noisy alarm in the middle of a perfect dream just to find out it was Wednesday? It's one for the history books. "Wednesday". I mean, it even sounds depressing, and make it into an alliteration, woeful Wednesday. Despite being in a work week sandwich, I'll look at the glass half full.

Wish I were in Paris. Visited last summer, and I fell in love.

or the arable lands of the Netherlands, a gentle mist caressing the breeze.

"Two men look out through the same bars;
One sees the mud, and one the stars."

Have a relaxing rest of the week, everyone.

I've never been a fan of foreign films, but...

I was scrolling down Fios and I happened to see this treat, Buddy (2003). It's a Norwegian flim, a basic boy-meets-girl plot with a few twists (like a roommate who's afraid of the outside world beyond his tube station). I personally think it's adorable, and the main character a total cutie :)

There he is, on the left.

School is way hectic, especially since major exams are coming up. Here's to 12 hours of studying/homework this week!

Quick Addition: A popular television show way back when with Yves Saint Laurent as a guest!

Bonjour.

My name is Ruoxi. No one ever pronnounces it correctly on paper the first time. Imagine a girl rowing on her sailboat. (ROW-she). There. That's the trick.

I'm a teen, and like most teens, I think I'm misunderstood (I can't say it formally because I won't know if it's true until i'm reallyy old, like work-old.)
I'm not as misunderstood as artists say they are, but I took an art history class last year in school and I fell in love. With art. Like Jackson Pollock's.
Oh, and i also love fashion, food, and life. Life is sh-weet.
